Water cycle
This week we have started our learning about the water cycle. We will be conducting an experiment in class to see how the water cycle works and what affects the speed of evaporation.
Here is an experiment that can be carried out at home using either a bag or a bottle. https://www.rookieparenting.com/what-is-water-cycle/ 🙂
Careers day
Today we have thought about different careers and what we might want to be when we are older. This morning we had a visit from Sian and Sasha who told us all about being an occupational therapist and showed us some of the equipment they give to help their patients.

After this, we looked at different job people could have and completed an a-z job hunt. Then we discussed gender stereotyping in jobs and looked at male and female jobs. As a class, we thought that everybody should be able to access each job.

Then we researched which jobs we’d like to do in 20 years time and applied for a classroom role. We had lots of fun on careers day!

Active grammar
The children worked hard to create sentences containing fronted adverbial. They recognised that the adverbial phrase went at the start followed by a comma. We also enjoyed singing along to the fronted adverbial song.

Thank you to all of the adults that came to our shared lesson. We really enjoyed making our crafts for the fair.

Haikus
This week we are learning all about haikus and the children have been writing their own today based around an animal. We also created our own class haiku about a snow blizzard.
Swiftly swirling flakes, tumble on the frozen quilt, bare trees frozen still.

We can’t wait to share some of our own haikus with you!
