Home learning – Week 9

Dear Year 4,

I hope that you have enjoyed the video on our class youtube playlist this week! I will be adding lots more videos every week – more of ‘The Land of Roar’ story time and also some videos to help you with your learning.

This week I have uploaded a video for you to watch alongside the reading task. There is also a video for task one of your English learning and task one of your Maths learning. I hope these help and you enjoy watching them 🙂 I’ll be uploading more story time videos throughout the week too so keep an eye out to find out what happens in our book.

Here is the home learning for this week, along with the other resources you will need to help you.

Please leave me and your class mates a comment to let us know what you are up to and you can share your home learning too! I am also really looking forward to phoning you again next week – I cannot wait to hear about everything you have been doing over the past few weeks 😀

I wanted to share this quote with you this week.

Stay safe, be kind and keep smiling!

Miss Ross 🙂

Half term fun

Hi Everybody,

I hope you are all enjoying your half term! Here are some links that I thought you might enjoy 🙂

I know many of you enjoy History and finding out about the past so I thought you might enjoy the podcast stories told by Sophie, Ellie and their dad https://www.historystorytime.com/. There are lots of episodes about a range of different historical periods such as the Roman Empire, The Great Fire of London, Henry 8th, and many more. They post a new episode every week.

https://www.youtube.com/user/JamieOliver/playlists Jamie Oliver has created a cooking with kids playlist where he shows you how to cook lots of different things with your parents help 🙂

The winner is…

Another massive congratulations is in order! You have worked hard as a team and have won another battle of the bands. It was incredibly close and we won with 9,787 points to Mrs Lawrence’s 9, 764 – only 23 points in it!

Well done Alice, Eve, Ella, Ben, Eloise, Harry, Freya, Callum, Elle, Sophia, Mariana, Ellesha and Taybah! You are becoming quite the times table team! 😀

The end of term

Dear Year 4,

We have come to the end of another term and my goodness you have all worked incredibly hard! From the phone calls yesterday I heard all about you learning to ride your scooters, learning new tricks on the trampoline, exploring the local area on your walks, spending time with your family, chatting to your friends on the phone or sending letters to others and completing the home learning. I also heard about some of the things you have been doing for Mental Health Week this week! I would like to take this time to say a massive thank you to all of the adults who are taking care of you and helping you at home, they are doing a fabulous job!

Here is a photo of my dog as I know some of you have been asking after her and you all like seeing the home page on my laptop. 🙂

As it is half term next week, I will not be posting a home learning pack for you to be completing but instead I would like to remind you of the useful websites blog post which I have recently updated if you would like to do any learning. I would like to encourage you to continue reading whilst you are at home and heard from many of you that you had found new books to read and enjoy. Remember, Audible have some free audio books for you to listen to if you want to try something new: https://stories.audible.com/discovery.

I will put up the next home learning pack on Friday 29th May! To anybody who is due to celebrate or has celebrated a birthday recently, I wish you a very happy birthday! Also, I would like to wish those celebrating a Happy Eid over the weekend!

I will still be responding to any comments over half term so feel free to leave a message to let everybody know what you are up to.

Enjoy the sunshine! Stay safe, be kind and keep smiling!

Miss Ross 🙂

Battles of the bands 22.05.20

Good morning everybody!

It was lovely to speak to you all on the phone yesterday and see so many of you commenting on the blog yesterday and today! Just to let you know the battle against Mrs Lawrence’s class on TTR ends at 4pm today. Currently, it is very close indeed! We have 8,600 points and they have 8,622 so it really is all to play for.

Your dedication and team spirit never fails to amaze me! I am very proud of all of you. Keep working hard! 😀

Week 7 – maths task two

Unfortunately the youtube link to the song is not working for everybody so hopefully this will work without sending you to youtube! Please let me know if it doesn’t. The song is the Angles song: acute, obtuse and right angles by Numberrock 🙂
